Photography - astrophotography continued

This photo is of the Horsehead Nebula and was taken by Tragoolchitr Jittasaiyapan.
He has taken lots of sub frames and combined them. This photo is the result of hours of actual exposure e.g. he has used five different filters and for the e.g. green filter he has taken 20 frames each at 3 minutes. This is way beyond me however there is general advice like ensure the sky is a dark sky, which means you cant photograph stars well if the moon is out - which I did!
